The University of Tennessee has partnered with Podium Education to provide students with a new and first-of-its-kind opportunity to participate in Global Tech Programs.
UT Global Tech Programs are fully digital, experiential learning programs that combine in-demand tech skills and intercultural learning and competency. Podium has worked in conjunction with the Programs Abroad Office to design and develop the course curriculum, which is then embedded into an online global learning platform available to students seeking a global experience while enrolled at UT.
The collaboration creates three program options – global data, global digital marketing, and global web development. The programs include accessible coursework and engaging content to provide all students with the skills and resources they need to succeed in the modern economy. Students can access global education from anywhere in the world with course content optimized for digital learning.
The curriculum for global tech programs includes world class instructors, hands-on projects with international students, Hollywood-level production, and real-world case studies that cover global organizations in the US, Europe and Asia with the most recognized brands in the world including: Airbnb, Netflix, Spotify, Target, Zillow, American Red Cross, Shopify, and more.
UT Global Tech courses are available to all undergraduate students regardless of major or experience. There are no prerequisites for students to participate in a program and the first 10-week cohort begins this summer.
Anne Hulse, Interim Director of Programs Abroad, explains: “The Programs Abroad Office is excited to add global tech programs as an extension of our online global learning portfolio, offering students an innovative learning experience and enhancing their career prospects after graduation.”
Podium’s President of University Partnerships, Chris Parrish, added “This is a revolutionary moment for global education. Students need to learn both the technical and intercultural skills to thrive in our modern workforce. We are thrilled to partner with the University of Tennessee on the Global Tech Programs to help students around the world build this unique skillset.”
