Guten Tag! My name is Ty Oreskovic and I am a senior here at UTK studying Psychology and Child and Family Studies. I have studied abroad in Hong Kong, Canada, and Germany. My first program was a semester long exchange in Hong Kong, a special administrative region of China, at City University of Hong Kong. The “Gateway to the East” allowed me to travel Korea, China, and parts of southeast Asia. My favorite memory was playing soccer with some kids in rural Cambodia. The following Spring, I decided to visit our neighbors to the north, Canada, on an ISEP exchange program. My school, Brock University, was just outside of Toronto, which turned out to be one of my favorite cities I’ve ever visited. Most recently, I participated in a faculty-directed German language program in Freiburg, Germany. During the month, I learned intermediate German language, visited neighbors Switzerland and France, and got to watch the World Cup alongside locals. My studies have allowed me to visit 23 countries in total, eating the most delicious food and meeting the best people along the way. There are many places to study abroad and even more reasons to do so, what’s yours? Bis Bald!
