Guidelines

Students who wish to take International Business courses abroad should adhere to the following:

  • All 9-12 credit hours of International Business elective coursework can be taken abroad
  • International Business elective coursework should be international or global in scope, this can include region or country-specific courses
  • Coursework should focus on business topics (i.e. not Political Science or International Relations)
  • Coursework must be upper division (300 or 400 level equivalent)
  • Internships abroad can count for international business credit if there is coursework in conjunction with the internship and the following requirements are met:
    • 35 class contact hours + 150-299 internship hours = 3 credit hours of International Business
    • 70 class contact hours + 300 or more internship hours = 6 credit hours of International Business

*Students should meet with an International Programs and Study Abroad (IPSA) advisor to receive final approval for International Business coursework.
