Tashi Delek! I am a senior here at UT and am studying Political Science and Philosophy. I studied abroad for a semester in Nepal and India, with an emphasis on Tibetan and Himalayan politics and religion and the issues faced by communities in exile with SIT. I had Tibetan language class every day, and it was awesome to learn such a unique language and one thing I really enjoyed was talking to the monks about their philosophies ad ideologies. One of the highlights of my experience was staying for a week in a rural village in the middle of the Himalayas, and just overall getting to dive headfirst into such a different culture. The semester I studied abroad opened my eyes to so many things I never knew existed. I think studying abroad is amazing in itself, and there are so many unique places you could go, and there is so much to learn about the world and yourself. All you have to do is go!
