CGE Influencers & Storytellers Scholarship

Content-creators, change-makers, future #VolsAbroaders! 

Are you participating or applying to participate on a PAO-approved Fall Semester 2025 program abroad and looking for ways to #FundDreams and make it happen? Look no further!

Introducing the CGE Influencers & Storytellers Scholarship – a $2,000 scholarship for UT students committed to creating content sharing their authentic #VolsAbroad experiences and engaging with key audiences.

Here’s a breakdown of information to review before applying (roughly 10 minutes of your time)!

Influencers and Storytellers will be relied upon to submit authentic, culturally immersive content regularly throughout your time abroad to be used in departmental/university marketing and future promotional materials as the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) sees fit.

  • 5 social media reels (three of these should be 60-90 second that provide a glimpse into the study abroad experience)
  • 5 picture carousels (at least three photos each but more is encouraged)
  • Reflection: Students will be asked to provided a written reflection piece upon completion of their program. CGE will provide a guided form for students to fill out.
  • Presentation: Recipients will be expected to present at one on-campus event for Programs Abroad or CGE following their time abroad (options include tabling events, the CGE Global Engagement Summit, the VolsAbroad Fair, and Study Abroad 101 sessions).

Purpose: 

  • To engage with audiences regarding an abroad country, culture, or program 
  • To entertain audiences with authentic abroad experiences or related content
  • To educate audiences on the impact of global engagement and provide personal examples

Audience:

  • Prospective and current UT students
  • Alumni and potential donors
  • Campus and international partners

Context:

Create content to be broadcast across current platforms (listed below) for the purpose of sharing your authentic #VolsAbroad experience and engaging with key audiences

Applicants MUST be participating on a PAO-approved program for Fall 2025 to be considered for the scholarship. If you haven’t started your abroad program application, it’s not too late! Start the process to go abroad!

Fall 2025  program abroad applications are due April 20, 2025. 

The application includes:

  • A 60-90 second “day in the life” style reel that demonstrates an understanding of the style of content you would submit during your time abroad. This could be a video where you take audiences through a typical day of classes, an event your attending, or an interesting learning opportunity. This reel should be created for the application.
  • 3-5 photos that demonstrate your ability to provide the requested content.
  • A short, written explanation detailing why you want to study abroad and what you hope to learn during the experience.
